Global Opportunity Scholarship

Avila University Arizona is committed to making high-quality education more accessible to international students. The Global Opportunity Scholarship is designed to recognize outstanding students from various regions around the world and support them in achieving their academic goals. The Global Opportunity Scholarship is awarded to students based on their country of citizenship. Below are the eligible regions and countries:

The Americas Scholarship

Eligibility: International students who are citizens of Latin America, the Caribbean, or Brazil and have been admitted to a graduate program at Avila University Arizona.

Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Scholarship

Eligibility: International students who are citizens of an approved CIS country (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, or Uzbekistan) and have been admitted to an Avila University Arizona graduate program.

Europe, the Middle East, and Africa Scholarship

Eligibility: International students who are citizens of Turkey or any country in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East and have been admitted to a graduate program at Avila University Arizona.

East and Southeast Asia Scholarship

Eligibility: International students who are citizens of China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Brunei, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, North Korea, South Korea, or Japan and have been admitted to a graduate program at Avila University Arizona.

Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Bhutan Scholarship

Eligibility: International students who are citizens of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, or Bhutan and have been admitted to a graduate program at Avila University Arizona.

Scholarship Details

Total Award Amount: $3,000

Award Structure:

$1,000 per semester for up to three semesters.
The first $1,000 is awarded as an entrance scholarship for the first semester.
The remaining $2,000 is awarded per semester, contingent on maintaining eligibility.

Scholarship Renewal Requirements

To continue receiving the scholarship, students must:

Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
Be enrolled as a full-time student at Avila University Arizona
Remain in good academic and institutional standing
Have no financial holds on their student account

Disclaimer: A scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded in the first semester. An additional $1,000 will be awarded in the second semester if the student achieves a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at the end of their first semester. A further $1,000 will be awarded in the third semester if the student maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at the end of their second semester. This scholarship is non-transferable.

Avila Academic Excellence Scholarships

In addition to the Global Opportunity Scholarship, international students may also qualify for a merit-based scholarship determined by the student’s undergraduate GPA (converted to the U.S. 4.0 scale) prior to enrolling at AUA. This scholarship is awarded in the final semester and is not contingent upon academic performance at AUA.

GUS Canada Colleges Alumni Scholarship

Avila University Arizona is proud to offer a scholarship opportunity exclusively for GUS Canada Colleges alumni. This scholarship supports eligible students as they begin their academic journey at our Goodyear campus.

Eligibility: GUS Canada Colleges alumni who have been admitted to a full-time program at Avila University Arizona and remain in good academic standing. This scholarship is non-transferable and cannot be combined with any other scholarship.

Scholarship Details

Total Award Amount: $1,000*

Award Structure:

$500 awarded as an entrance scholarship for the first semester
$500 awarded in the second semester, contingent on maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

*A scholarship of $500 will be awarded in the first semester, with an additional $500 in the second semester if the student maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Students must be enrolled full-time at Avila University Arizona, remain in good academic and institutional standing, and have no financial holds on their student account.

Scholarships Terms & Conditions

Avila University Arizona (AUA) offers a limited number of scholarships to support eligible students pursuing graduate education. All scholarships are subject to the following terms and conditions:

General Eligibility

Scholarships are not guaranteed and may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at the sole discretion of Avila University Arizona.
Students must be enrolled full-time in a degree program at AUA.
To maintain eligibility, students must remain in good academic standing, meet all institutional conduct expectations, and have no financial holds on their student account.
Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements specific to each scholarship they apply for.

Transfer Credit and Pathway Programs

Students who are granted transfer credit(s) or course exemptions at any time during the admissions or enrollment process, including after a scholarship has been awarded, may have their institutional scholarship recalculated and reduced or cancelled based on the revised number of required program credits.
Students admitted through advanced standing or pathway partnership agreements are not eligible for Avila University Arizona (AUA) institutional scholarships but may qualify for a separate partnership-specific scholarship, where applicable. Applicants acknowledge that scholarship amounts are based on full program tuition and may change if the total number of required credits is reduced through transfer credit. All transfer credit decisions are final and determined solely by Avila University Arizona.

Scholarship Use and Renewability

Scholarships are applied exclusively to tuition and cannot be transferred to another institution, program, or student.
No additional application is required after the first semester. Scholarships are automatically renewed each term, provided eligibility criteria continue to be met.

Academic Integrity

Scholarships may be revoked if a student is found in violation of AUA’s Academic Integrity Policy or other University regulations.
