Academic Admission Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree: Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum GPA: Applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale for all undergraduate or graduate coursework.
- Applicants with a GPA between 2.50 and 2.74 may be considered for provisional admission. Provisionally admitted students must achieve a 3.0 GPA or higher in their first nine credits to continue in the program.
- Official transcripts: Submit official transcripts for all post-secondary education. For international transcripts, a credential evaluation may be required.
- Applicants with 15 or more undergraduate credits in computer science, cybersecurity, or business analytics may have introductory courses (CS 600, CY 600, or BA 600) waived, pending a transcript evaluation.
- MSc programs: Applicants with 15 or more undergraduate credits in computer science, cybersecurity, or business analytics may have introductory courses (CS 600, CY 600, or BA 600) waived, pending a transcript evaluation.
- MBA programs: Applicants with statistics courses in their undergraduate program may have EC604 Statistical Analysis waived, pending a transcript evaluation.
English Language Proficiency Requirements
For non-native English speakers, proof of English proficiency is required. You can demonstrate this through approved standardized tests like the TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test, PTE Academic, and more.
Applicants who have received their education in an English-speaking country may be exempt from this requirement. For detailed information on exempt countries and more, please click here.
The admissions committee may recommend additional prerequisite courses based on your academic background and intended program of study.
Enrollment Requirements
After successful admission, students are required to submit additional documentation.
Immigration Documentation
- Valid passport copy: Submit a copy of your passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay.
- Valid visa: Provide an F-1 student visa by the start of the term.
- Additional documents: Depending on your country, U.S. embassies or consulates may have additional document requirements. After gathering all necessary documents, present them to a U.S. embassy or consulate to obtain your F-1 student visa.
Financial Documentation
- Statement of finance: Submit a statement of finance to demonstrate sufficient funds to cover tuition and living expenses. For more details about sufficient funds, please refer to the International Student Financial Proof and Affidavit of Support Document.
After submitting the required financial documents, the Avila DSO team will review them to ensure they meet the criteria for issuing an I-20. If any issues arise or additional information is required, the Avila University Arizona team will notify you promptly.
