Avila University students and staff will have 24/7 access to the contents of this web page and these disclosures; additionally, Avila will inform its students and staff of this information at least one time per year by sending an email announcement to each student and staff via the Avila-issued email account. School of Education Accreditation

Avila University School of Education programs that offer licensing are also approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE).  Those programs include initial certifications in Elementary Education; K-12 Mild/Moderate Cross-Categorial Special Education; Middle School Education with concentrations in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science; Secondary Education in Biology, Business, English, Social Science, and Speech/Theatre, and K-12 Art Education.  DESE has also approved the following licensure programs: Educational Leadership with Principal Certification; Special Reading with Certification; K-12 School Counselor with Certification and Educational Specialist with Superintendent Certification.

Avila University is a member in good standing of the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP), a national accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Avila University is working toward national accreditation of its educator preparation programs under the AAQEP standards with an anticipated quality assurance review in Fall 2023.
